As we move into 2025 – 20 years on from the historic 2005 Ashes – Admiral have introduced the Beam and Boom ranges. With nods to their heritage in cricket, chiefly their iconic England apparel, their bats are handmade in the UK and are expertly pressed and knocked in using modern techniques to ensure they perform straight out of the box.

The Beam is inspired by the England ODI shirt from 2003, featuring the tape design from the front of the shirt. Shaped for manoeuvrability and technical strokeplay, it boasts a traditional profile with a slightly shorter blade and a concaved profile to improve pickup. A mid-placed sweetspot with a slightly duckbilled toe lends itself to cultured, considered shotmaking.

The Boom is designed for the modern, dynamic player. With an elongated mid-to-low sweetspot and a high spine that runs through to the toe, it’s built for power. Huge edges combine with that hefty swell to ensure big hits find the boundary with ease. Both bats are available in a range of English willow grades, and there are premium-quality Kashmir willow options to choose from too.

The soft goods range has a classic, minimalistic look and makes a perfect match for either the Beam or Boom bats – ideal for all of you out there who like to coordinate your batting equipment. Adorned with the famous Admiral logo in traditional royal blue, the gloves and pads offer high quality protection and cater for all budgets.

All the gloves feature multi-section fingers for flexibility and plush leather palms for comfort, with the top of the range Pro glove combining luxurious Pittard’s leather and interlocking finger rolls for that professional-level, premium feel.

On the pads, it’s more about the level of protection you need. Both the 2.0 and 1.0 have traditional cane rods to absorb impacts, substantial side wings for extra coverage, and triple straps for a secure fit. If you’re regularly facing high-speed bowling, we’d recommend the 1.0 for its superior cushioning.

To round off the collection, there’s a range of luggage available to keep your new gear pristine. Duffle or wheelie? That’s up to you – check out the full Admiral Cricket collection and take your pick.

About Admiral
Celebrating their centenary year in 2024, Admiral are one of Britain’s most historic sport brands. While the company’s origins go back to 1903, it was in 1914 that founders Christopher Cook and Harold Hurst made their business official, when the pair opened a small factory in Leicestershire and were commissioned to manufacture clothing and hosiery for the military in support of the First World War effort. This partnership resulted in their first foray into sportswear, crafting exercise garments for the Royal Navy, which proved the inspiration for the “Admiral” name.

In the 1970s, Admiral became a fully-fledged sportswear brand, outfitting the British & Irish Lions on their tour to New Zealand, producing the first replica shirt for Leeds United, as well as striking a deal to make England’s kit for the 1974 World Cup. The likes of Manchester United, Spurs, Southampton, West Ham, and multiple international sides soon followed, as Admiral continued to grow their reputation on a global scale.

Fast forward to 2000 and Admiral became the official supplier of the England Cricket Team, with their kit being worn during the historic 2005 Ashes series. South Africa and the West Indies also wore Admiral kits during the 00s. Today, in addition to top-class bats and equipment, they produce full ranges of teamwear for sporting enthusiasts of every level to enjoy.
